There’s no better opportunity to get your script produced than through our 2025 Spring Short Film Fund.
We have greenlit 22 short films since the founding of our Short Film Fund. Our prize packages are designed to help you successfully take your script to the screen:
- Two cash prizes: $15,000 cash production grant to produce your short film and a separate $4,000 finishing funds prize for one short film already in post-production.
- Free camera equipment from ARRI Rental: ARRI will provide FREE production camera equipment for the duration of the shoot. ARRI is the industry standard for camera equipment. This enables our short films to not only have the highest production standards possible, but will also save the production thousands of dollars that would otherwise be spent renting equivalent top-of-the-range camera equipment.
- A-List Talent: Actors such as Ben Whishaw (James Bond, Perfume), Alex Lawther (Andor, The End of the F**king World), Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why), and T’Nia Miller (The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Peripheral) have all been cast in our shorts. They come on board for a fraction of their usual fee because they see the potential in our winning scripts and filmmakers.
- Oscar-nominated Mentorship: Two-time Oscar-nominated Producer, Maria Gracia Turgeon will mentor our SFF1 Winner. Maria has produced many shorts and is currently working on features too. She loves and is passionate about working with new talent.
- Shore Development & Support: We are here for the filmmakers every step of the way. We always start with the script and give our thoughts on any development that can help improve the project. We are there through pre-production (helping crew up, connecting the filmmaking team with ARRI), production, post-production, and festival submissions.
- Festival Strategy with Tribeca Film Festival shorts programmer Kimberley Browning: She will impart invaluable advice to our winners on how to get the best festival run out of their winning film.
- A Proven Track Record of Success: Our short films have opened doors and started the careers of so many of our winners. Our alumni have gone on to write and direct for TV shows on Netflix, Amazon, BBC, AMC, NBC, and more.
All script submissions also receive at least 100 words in feedback from our readers about what worked well and what could be improved. Finalists for the finishing funds prize will also receive feedback on the rough cut of their film from a producer at award-winning production company Vanishing Angle.
